CHRISTIAN PASTORAL CARE
“I was hungry and you gave me
food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you
welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you cared for
me, I was in prison an you visited me…” Mat 25:35-36
Welcome
to our Pastoral Care Site. We hope you find resources here that help you to walk
your Christian journey in the company of our congregation. At Grace-St. Andrew's
United Church we see the Christian journey as both individual and a community
experience. When we are able to walk with other Christians who have experienced
similar things, we can find support, encouragement and hope. Jesus spoke of the
importance of meeting one another with the heart of one who always seeks the
holy (Jesus) in another (“I
was sick and you cared for me…”).
The
journey of faith is a process, a time of discovery, a relationship with God and
with the community of faith. We are encouraged and held up by Jesus who walked
gently and respectfully with those whom society held in greatest disregard. He was crucified for his choices, but God's love and power shines forth
in the resurrection. God's power is
stopped by nothing. In the darkest times in our lives, God walks with us,
bringing us back to life again.
