COLLECTION ENVELOPES
Lots of
children and adults
ask:
Q:
"what are my givings used
for?
A: "At Grace-St. Andrew's United Church, we offer several opportunities
for giving:"
1. Mission and Service fund: this money goes to special outreach and mission
projects around the
world and in Canada - its one way of proclaiming God's love to others.
2. Local Church: these
gifts help support ministry and outreach in our own community.
Your gifts help
maintain our buildings and provide ministry support to pastoral care,
worship, Christian
education and adult faith groups.
3.
Building Fund: our buildings need up keep and updating to continue to meet
congregational and
community needs.
4. Benevolent Fund: You
can designate givings to this fund by making a note on your
envelope. This helps
local people and transients in times of financial crisis.
Q: "how much should I
give?"
A: "Grace-St. Andrew's United Church is
in a time of transition. Our budget needs are higher
than they were several years ago. At present
our congregation is having trouble meeting those
needs financially. If even 100 givers could
increase their givings by about $3/day ($21 / week) we could
meet our budget by year end! We know that some
cannot contribute more than what they are doing. Please think about increasing your givings to help
support our church's growth and new life!
Other opportunities for
giving:
We are still in need of one more CD player
for the Grades 4 and 5 class. (We have already
purchased three players). If you have some
Canadian Tire money to spare, please put it in the box at the back
of the church and hopefully we will have our last
piece of equipment before Sunday School begins!
